4 SEASONS GARDEN CLUB
of SOUTH LYON, MICHIGAN
OUR HISTORY
1994 - 2025
The Four Seasons Garden Club of South Lyon, Michigan was formed in 1994 by Florence Reaume. The first meetings were held at her home with 15 members. For many years we met in the Center for Active Adults at the South Lyon High School on 11 Mile Rd. on the 1st Tuesday of each month. The current meeting location is the Lyon Township Public Library Community Center. Traditionally, in the summer months, we meet at a member's home for a tour and meeting.
The club was a member of the Garden Clubs of Michigan from 1997-2010. Our members have helped design the reading garden at the Salem-South Lyon Library, participate in the Historical Society’s Depot Days, and host the community perennial exchange the first Saturday in May.
The first “Garden Walk” of South Lyon was held in 1999. In 2000 the club planted daffodils at the city’s parks and in 2002 we added daylilies to Baker Park. The club installed a “Blue Star Memorial Plaque” at McHattie Park to honor our armed serves in 2004.
Feel free to attend any of our open meetings. See our Public Facebook page, South Lyon Garden Club.

OUR OBJECTIVES
The club’s objective is to provide educational opportunities for its members while promoting the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility in nature. This goal is accomplished through the study of plant material, landscape design, floral design, conservation, wildlife, gardening and horticulture.
The Blue Star Memorial is on display at McHattie Park in South Lyon on Pontiac Trail at Dorothy Street.
